Piano refinishing is one of the most important parts of a successful piano repair. People take pride in their piano, and often need a nice looking piano to compliment a good sounding one.
At Singfield Piano a great deal of attention is given to the stripping and refinishing of the piano's cabinet. Over the years David Anderson and Maurice Singfield have developed their own techniques and applications when it comes to the multi-layered finish.
With portable equipment they are able to travel just about anywhere in the world and perform their magic. All the customer needs is a garage or large covered balcony. On the island of Montserrat they refinished a 6 ft Steinway grand piano, 1904 model "O", as part of a complete two week restoration. (Have a look at the Archives section).
Other times they are able to refresh a piano's finish by touching-up what is already there. This is done right in the customer's living room.
