Claude Prud'homme Jazz Ensemble
The ensemble's repertoire includes the compositions of its leader Claude Prud'Homme and a few jazz standards thrown in. The subtle blend of the different timbres will surely charm anyone who appreciates instrumental music.
Members of the ensemble are:
Claude Prud'Homme plays guitar, writes the music and leads the ensemble. Having an interest in different genres of music enriches the improvisational style of his guitar playing and adds depth to his compositions. During performances his personal touch resonates with the public as jazz fans appreciate the fine art of improvisation.
Bernard D'Anjou well known by regional music lovers, plays bass in the quintet. His wide experience allows him to react with spontaneity, an essential plus for a jazz band.
Jacques Séguin trumpet player, is a young musician finishing McGill University jazz studies. Gifted with a wonderful sense of melody, he brings to the ensemble shades of orchestral colours with his flugelhorns and other instruments.
Yannick Coderre plays the saxophone, he is a musician making his way on the Montreal music scene. Freshly graduated from McGill University where he studied jazz, Yannick is a real musical locomotive, supplying the band with unlimited energy.
Serge Hamelin occupies the drummer's seat. A Concordia University graduate, he is a musician and a teacher in Montreal. He combines the elements of fiery jazz and the subtility of european jazz.
