Welcoming
Welcome to my boutique!
La Saponaire has been making soap and bath products. They are made in small batches to insure quality control.
La Saponaire is located in Waterloo, in the Eastern Township of Quebec. We try, if possible, to get our base ingredients from local suppliers.
We have over 10 years of experience in the soap making field.
70% of ingredients are of Canadian origin, therefore they haven't travelled for tens of kilometers to get to us.
Some of those ingredients are transformed here by traditional and ancestral methods. We transform ourselves dear tallow and sometimes beef tallow to make of it a product that we'll use in our soap fabrication. The choice of our basic ingredient to make a durable and soft soap.
We also promote local sales by getting some of our essential oils from local Crafters, all our soaps are enriched with biological sunflower oil produced in Quebec. The labels on our soaps are printed on Pro-terra paper made of recycled fibers.
Cordially, Sophie Théberge
La saponaire ( soapworth) is a perenial, herbaceous plant that was used a long time ago as a soap substitute. The roots were boiled in water to make a sudsy water in which the garments were soaked.
