Hooked on Bluegrass

Hooked on Bluegrass evolved from the Townships Bluegrass and Old-Tyme Music Society which was founded in 1992, and the original members of the band were playing and singing bluegrass music long before then. Although the band's personnel has gone through several changes over the years, Gord Cameron and Tom Kilbride are still a big part of the action.

Gord Cameron plays the 5-string banjo, and sings tenor and baritone on lead and harmony vocals.
Marcel Chouinard plays mandolin and sings lead and harmony tenor vocals.
Perry Benedik plays bass, and occasionally sings baritone and bass harmony.
Larry Comeau plays lead guitar, as well as a dobro which he built himself. He also sings lead and harmony vocals.
Tom Kilbride plays acoustic guitar, and sings lead vocals.

This CD was digitally recorded by John Cameron at the Townships Bluegrass and Old-Tyme Music Society's second annual winter concert at the Royal Canadian Legion in Waterloo, Quebec on March 19, 2002. Acknowledgements
Gord Cameron - My love and thanks to my wife Linda and my two sons Scott and John. I love you all very much. To Bob and Kay Vaux for being the best in-laws a son-in-law can have. Love to my mom Sarah Jane and my thanks to my late father James Cameron who taught me how to play the 5-string banjo. Love to my brother Don, who taught me what bluegrass music was all about back in the 1950's when we listened WWVA radio from Wheeling West Virginia. Thanks to all our fans for supporting our band. Thanks to the other band members for putting up with me. I dedicate this CD project to everyone above and to the memories of two good friends, the late Sam Bailey Jr. and the late Paul M. Jenne. They loved the bluegrass wild game suppers at The Camp in Glen Sutton, Quebec.

Marcel Chouinard - Thanks to Bob & Rose Savoy for the time to teach me the bluegrass techniques back in the 1960's. Big hugs to my wife Ethel for her patience and love. I am very thankful to all the members of Hooked on Bluegrass for asking me to be a part of this band.

Perry Benedik - Thanks to my wife, Shirley, my constant source of support in all of my life's adventures, and to all of my friends and family with whom I have enjoyed music's gift.

Larry Comeau - I dedicate my music to my dad, John Comeau, for teaching me to play his old Martin D-18 and thanks to Junior Barber for his Dobro music.

Tom Kilbride - To my dear wife Maureen for her patience.
