| Sunnymead is the name of the Persons' farm established about two generations ago in West Brome, Quebec; Canada. Over the years the farm, like many others, has become little more than a barn silently standing reminding this generation that farming was once a way of life. Like a ghostly sentinel the building stands before 650 acres of land preserving the name painted in bold letters on its side. | ||
| To the Persons brothers their father represented a man determined to continue the tradition of living off the land, and when farming became less and less viable, Pete Persons became more and more creative. He built an airport with three hangars, attracting airshows and local flying enthusiasts in order to augment his farmer's income. | ||
| Today, Mike, Pete junior and Jim have taken over the responsibilities left by their father's passing. With a large acreage of land and tapping their father's ingenuity the brothers have set out on a path to secure a future for themselves. Since the airshow days, entertainment has always interested the brothers. Respect for the land is high on their list of priorities, as is maintaining a sense of community in all the events taking place at the Sunnymead farm. | ||
| With the Eastern Townships of Quebec offering a picturesque rural setting and unique English and French ambiance, West Brome comes out a winner. The Sunnymead Picnic is West Brome, the Eastern Townships, the old and new and will strive to reflect all these things in the years to come. | ||
