Since March 7th 2003, Brome Lake finally has a team of fully trained "First Responders." The team's mission is to stabilize people in need, of medical assistance, while waiting for the arrival of an ambulance. The group is made of 21 volunteers, who after 55 hours of training, give no less then 12 hours of their time per week to be on call.
The service which is bilingual, and is offered to the town on a 24 / 7 basis as is the provincial law when such services are available. We are linked to the 9-1-1 system and will be activated as the need arises.
While this service is free, donations are gratefully accepted, after all, it cost money to buy and maintain the equipment. Thankfully several generous donations have started the team off on the right foot.
If you live in the Town of Brome Lake QC. Canada and would like to give some time to this group, contact us and we'll be happy to fill you in on the details of getting started.
